Andy served 30 years in the Air Force as a pilot, physician, hospital administrator and AF Surgeon General. He was the Lead Agent of the Tricare Region VI, which included both Wilford Hall USAF Medical Center and Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, as well as 17 other military hospitals in a four-state region. He had a small role in the development of the VA Veterans Integrated Service Networks (VISNs) while Air Force Surgeon General in the early 1990s. After retirement, he served as a Senior Physician at Hines VA Medical Center. He founded Veteran’s Health Medical Supply in 2006 and leads the company as President and Chief Executive Officer.

Melisa has held leadership positions in the private sector for more than 20 years. Throughout her career, she gained experience facilitating cost-effective access to quality health care – as a health care analyst, employee benefits administrator, and leader at Veteran’s Health Medical Supply. Melisa entered the employee benefits field in 1991 with San Antonio-based telecommunications company Qwest (then called USLD Communications). In 1995, she was promoted to Director of Compensation and Benefits. She joined Pier 1 Imports in 1998 as Director of Employee Benefits. Her responsibilities grew to include several other HR functions, including compensation and an employee service center. She joined Veteran’s Health Medical Supply in 2008 as Vice President of Operations & Customer Service, and she became COO in 2013.

Brenda joined Veteran’s Health Medical Supply with more than 20 years of comprehensive experience in corporate finance and accounting. She has spent the last 11 years in the health care industry as Chief Financial Officer of ReCept Pharmacy and NurseCore Management Services. In these roles, Brenda gained valuable experience in management of the finance and accounting functions, mergers and acquisitions, and strategic planning. She became the CFO for Veteran’s Health in May 2013.

Jennifer Mihills, Director, Sales Support

Jennifer’s career has spanned more than 20 years and has included various roles in administration and customer service. In 1997, she became a Human Resources Specialist for Pier 1 Imports. When promoted to Benefits Manager, she assumed responsibility for the company’s retirement and relocation programs. While overseeing multi-million-dollar programs, Jennifer also gained experience managing a call center. In her next position after leaving Pier 1, she served as the Assistant Director of an education center from 2005 to 2013. Jennifer joined Veteran’s Health Medical Supply in January 2013 as Manager of Sales Support, and was promoted to Director of Sales Support in 2014.

After Dan graduated from the Naval Academy, he served as a helicopter pilot in the U.S. Navy, performing fleet support and search and rescue. His post-military career began in operations for Air Products and Chemicals in 1987. He advanced to Plant Manager, responsible for the Southeastern Specialty Gas Market. In 1990 he transitioned to sales, with emphasis on the medical and industrial marketplaces, eventually rising to the position of Senior Southern Regional Sales Representative. In 2011, Dan joined Sklar Instruments as a Regional Sales Manager initially responsible for the Southeast, and gradually the Eastern U.S. marketplace. He joined Veterans Health Medical Supply in 2015.

Stephen joined VHMS in 2014 with more than 18 years of sales experience in all areas of the healthcare market (acute care, rehab, long-term care and home care). He began his career in the Air Force Reserves, where he was certified as a medical service specialist, emergency medical technician and cardiopulmonary lab specialist. His ten years of service included a tour in the Gulf War after his unit was activated.

Chris began his career in the military, serving 20 years as a U.S. Army medic. While in Special Forces, he traveled in the Middle East, Africa, and Central Asia. His military career also included four years as an instructor in the Joint Special Operations Medical Training Center at Ft. Bragg, NC. After retiring from active duty in 2004, he spent eight years in pharmaceutical sales with AstraZeneca. In 2012, he took a job in medical sales with ADS, Inc., serving the Department of Defense and federal agencies. He joined Veteran’s Health Medical Supply in February 2017.

Jason joined VHMS in March 2019, bringing 15 years of experience selling medical devices to private and government health care organizations. He started his career in information technology, selling and implementing computer and telecom solutions. In 2004, he became a sales representative for a respiratory DME company. Three years later, he began selling vascular equipment for BioMedix Vascular Solutions. His next move was to Surgical Innovations in 2010. He spent six years selling supplies and instruments to cath labs, EP labs, CVORs and ORs. Then, Jason capped off his broad experience with three years working for DermaSciences (later acquired by Integra Lifesciences), selling devices and implants for orthopedics and wound care. Although he never served in the military personally, his father served in the Marine Corp during the Korean Police Action (1953-1956).

Jon Wisson

Director, Government Relations

Jon joined VHMS in May 2019 with 20 years of experience in medical sales and several years of experience leading national government accounts. The son of a WWII Army Air Corps veteran, he began his career as a pharmaceutical representative for Cardinal Health. After five years, he moved to Phadia US where he sold diagnostic testing equipment. In 2008, he accepted a position with Terumo Medical as a senior account manager in the blood center segment. He moved to Sonova Corporation in 2015, where he spent three years as national account manager for government services. His most recent position was national sales director for government accounts at Cooper Genomics.
